Author & Freelance Writer

Kerrie Flanagan is an author, writing instructor, publisher and an accomplished freelance writer with over 17 years experience and hundreds of published articles. Her articles are found in Writer’s Digest, The Writer Magazine, Chicago Tribune, FamilyFun, the 2015 & 2016 Children’s Writer’s and Illustrator’s Market and in the past five Writer's Markets. Her work also appears in six Chicken Soup for the Soul books. In addition to her own writing, she is passionate about supporting and encouraging other writers. She has helped over a dozen writers self-publish their books.  In 2007, she founded, Northern Colorado Writers, a member-based organization that provides resources and support to writers. She successfully led the organization for eight years before becoming an writing event coordinator for F+W. Her background in teaching and her desire to help writers, has led her to present at writing conferences across the country including the Willamette Writers Conference, Pikes Peak Writers Conference and Castle Rock Writer's Conference.

Her books include: Write Away: A Year of Musings and Motivations for Writers; Beauty Surrounds Us; Planes, Trains and Chuck & Eddie and Claire’s Christmas Catastrophe, all published under her label, Hot Chocolate Press.
