Writing Great Dialogue

One of the most effective ways of evoking distinct character traits is through dialogue. Dialogue can also effectively drive a story line. Mark will use examples of effective and ineffective dialogue from a number of sources. Audience participants will learn about the importance of understanding the paradox of “natural-sounding” dialogue, the importance of individualizing characters through syntax and diction, and how to avoid chatty dialogue and stagy dialogue, as well as how to correctly and effectively punctuate and tag dialogue.
