Editing: What to Worry About (and What to Let Slide)

This session will cover a number of important stages of editing your manuscript. Attendees will learn some handy tools for self-editing and the importance of polishing the first 5-10 pages submitted to agents. We’ll provide a clear breakdown of the many different types of editors an author will work with during the publication process, and what to worry about before working with each one. Will include real-world examples of editor interactions, sample pages, and a host of things to consider ahead of time to make the process easier (for everyone!). Also, hopefully we’ll dispel some of the fears of working with an editor, but also teach some tools to help you “kill your darlings.”
