A Novel vs. a Picture Book: It’s More Than Just Short

While the brevity of picture books lures authors into thinking that makes writing them easy, in reality the opposite is true. Because of the low page count, each word has to carry its weight. In this session, we’ll address the same topics used in novel writing–plot, structure, focus, characters, language–but adapt them for picture book writing, taking length and audience into account.
