“I make myself shut off the rest of the world when I write — I turn my phone to do not disturb, turn off any notifications on my computer, and just go. Sometimes it’s hard to get words out, and sometimes I struggle a lot! On those days I just tell myself “Okay, you just have to keep going for 30 minutes, let’s see how much you can write then.” And almost every time, I keep going long past those 30 minutes. But the days that I don’t, I cut myself slack; we all have bad writing days. The most important thing is to just keep going! ”
